Ready to take command of your own vessel?
This is the next formal step in the Sail Canada keelboat qualification program. On this course you will learn to sail safely as a skipper or crewmember on a keelboat of 6-10m, in moderate wind conditions, by day.
This course includes 14 hours classroom, followed by a minimum of 18 hours on the water. Instructor to student ratio is 3:1 offering lots of hands-on time.
Following your training you will write an exam to demonstrate your mastery of the required materials.
No pre-requisites however students with little boating experience may find this course challenging. Students are expected to supply their own PFD, and basic sailing equipment.
Successful completion of this course can meet the requirements to charter a vessel abroad.
Textbook, Alberta Sailing Association and Sail Canada Course levies are included in course cost. During the booking process you will select the ashore and afloat sessions separately according to your schedule.
